Sunday, Marth 18th marked the first event of the 2008 RCMTRA season. The RCPROMT points series will mark the biggest points series of the RCMTRA and the competition this year will be tough. Kyle DeFalco in BLACK STALLION started his quest for a 5th straight championship and was also armed with teams newest addition, the new BLACK SMITH, which is sponsored by Crawford Performance Engineering. There were also challenges from Dan DeFalco and Grave Digger along with several new trucks. Chad Buckland began his sophmore season on the circuit with is RENEGADE dodge. Along with Renegade, chad debuted the new SPIKE monster truck, an alter ego of Dan DeFalco's BRUTUS truck which was also debuting today. Also one of the most unique trucks on the circuit is the new icredible DONKEY KONG driven by Peter Spragg.
Down to the action!! -- The racing track had to be switch to another location to comply with park officals but once the track settled in the racing was fierce. DeFalco RC Racing with Dan DeFalco constructed a red-to-green starting light that would start off the races this year. Round 1 was tough right off the bat, but a good sign to come for the newest Crawford Performance Engineering team. The CPE Black Smith grabbed a round one win, defeating Chad Buckland in the finals. Black Stallion featured severe damage to the left rear knuckle, the truck would have to survive on tie-wraps for the remaninder of the afternoon. With light misty rain falling the most of the day, the track became slick. Black Stallion bounced back to win two rounds with Chad Buckland taking the other two. When it all came down to the end, it was Kyle DeFalco continuing his dominance of the RC PROMT circuit and taking the event's weekend racing win. Check out some of the pictures from today's event.
-- Dan DeFalco debuted the new BRUTUS monster truck. This truck is a Defiance Txt-1 and is an upgraded version of the old Grave Digger 14 TXT-1 from the 2003 and 2004 season.
- The brand new DONKEY KONG driven by Peter Spragg. Pete did an awesome job on this new monster and kong was a tough truck to beat all day
