  DIGGER'S DUNGEON
Memorial Day weekend means several things in the motorsports world. There's of course the Indy 500, the Coca-Cola 600, and for the RC world, the highlight of the weekend is the Digger's Dungeon RC world finals promoted by Fred Reep and RC Monster Motorsports. This is the second year for this event located in Poplar Branch, North Carolina, the home of Dennis Anderson and the Grave Digger monster truck. Last year was an incredible event and this year is even bigger. The entry numbers ran upwards of 200, over 80 pro mod clodbuster trucks made for a great day of racing. The racing course would bea modified St. Louis race track (side by side twin ovals) and hosted great racing througout the weekend. Freestyle was even more insane as the track included 3 full size monster truck tires and a full size crush car!!!!!. The DRCR team came ready with 6 trucks in competition. Dan DeFalco debuted his 25th anniversary Grave Digger along with a brand new  Mr. Destruction and Orange County Crusher. Kyle DeFalco debuted the brand new Air Force Afterburner, as well as having RCMTRA champion truck Black Stallion and the Brian Wood owned Sniper chevrolet.  Some of the team's highlights are as follows...

Racing -- All team trucks qualified well.  Grave Digger ran ino problems when the truck took a bad bounce up onto two wheels which sent the truck into a pole and costing the win. Kyle DeFalco took sniper out which was very swirly and was beaten by Captain's Curse. Black Stallion lost in the closest margin ever of the weekend, losing narrowly to Dave Pack's Grain Digger. Mr. Destruction and Airforce Afterburner both made it to the top 12 trucks, both trucks hit a pole and spun out, costing any further advance in the bracket. Dan Wyatt went on to win the the pro mod class. Congratulations goes to Dan and the whole Wyatt team on the victory. Justin Heard and Ryan Anderson went on to overall championship race with Justin getting the championship. congratulations also goes out to Justin and his

Freestyle --  The field of trucks was so large, it required a second day seperate for freestyle. The DRCR trucks ran into some trouble with freestyle, having short runs and tough crashes. Dan DeFalco had some good hits on the jumps but managed to break a shock on grave digger, and a knuckle and Four link attachment on Orange County Crusher. Kyle DeFalco had a respectable run with Airforce afterburner, getting huge air and filling out the whole run. Black Stallion was on the way to a repeat performance from last year, however the front motor failed and hindered the trucks performance. When all the dust and carnage settles, Bari Musawwir grabbed the freestyle victory for the second year in a row. Congratulations to Bari for another awesome job.
