May 27th 2006 --- For the first time ever in RC racing, 79 RC monsters roared into the home of GRAVE DIGGER and legend monster truck driver Dennis Anderson to do battle at Digger's Dungeon!! The event is promoted by RC Monster Motorsports and for the first time the DRCR racing team will race for a different promoter and race against some of the top trucks and drivers in the RC monster truck scene. The DRCR team brought 6 trucks to the event, 5 competed. Kyle DeFalco had his two time RCMTRA champion truck Black Stallion along with Bigfoot and Firestone Destination (destination only competed in freestyle). Dan DeFalco brought his Grave Digger, fresh off a RCMTRA rennegades win, along with the dodge Rammunition and Grave Digger 14 (txt-1 diger). Grave Digger 14 on the TXT-1 chassis is the original truck of the race team and was on display only due to the rear driveshaft being broken the previous event. Heres information on how the team did during the event
QUALIFYING/RACING -- After driver intro's concluded, qualifying started, the fastest trucks would be put into an A main group, then there would also be a B and C main group. All DRCR trucks qualified in the A main group, Rammunition getting a fast 8 second run and Grave Digger looked strong down the straightaway and final jump. Black Stallion moved on in the first round rather smoothly, Grave Digger unfortunately did not fair so well. After a decent qualifying round, Dan was looking to have a strong race but the equipment ran into trouble. Diger lined up against Dan Wyatt only to find that the truck did not have rear drive. Only seconds were available to try and find the problem in digger since Dan Wyatt went ahead and staged into the lights. There was not enough time to fix the rear pinion which had slid off, Digger ran Wyatt in 2 wheel drive and stayed even if not leading down the main stretch. Coming out of the turn tho is where the two wheel drive cost Dan the race. Rammunition and Bigfoot faced each other and Rammunition as well had no rear drive off the line but it kicked back in on the frontstretch but bigfoot would win. Kyle DeFalco and Bigfoot made it to the final 4 trucks but crahsed into the wall during the semi final round. the RCMTRA's Chad Brown made it into the finals against a the xtreme force twin force and chad fell a few truck lenghts short to come in second place.
FREESTYLE -- Freestyle was insane, Dennis Anderson put a full scale tire on the track with dirt ramps on each side for freestyle along with other big jumps. Kyle DeFalco represented the team in a huge with with awesome carnage fulled runs with both Black Stallion and Bigfoot, Bigfoot came in second place in freestyle. Bari Musawwir won freestyle with his Digger's Dungeon gas powered grave digger.
